Denver, Colorado´s Capitol is one of the most up and coming major cities in the United States with a population of around 558,000. Denver is nicknamed the Mile-High City because the steps of the city capitol rest at exactly one mile above sea level as does most of the city. Denver is governed by democratic mayor John Hickenlooper.
Denver is full of rich communities for any type of person starting with LoDo, or lower downtown. LoDo offers an amazing selection of Lofts or Loft style apartments that offer great city views, high ceilings and plenty of attractions nearby. Most of the LoDo district is called the ballpark area near Coors Field, home of the Colorado Rockies from the MLB (Major League Baseball). Right down the street from Coors Field is the famous 16th St. Mall. The 16th St. Mall is home to a plethora of stores and restaurants and is the location of the Tabor Center, Denver Pavilions, and World Trade Center. The Tabor Center offers many stores and 2 famous restaurants; The ESPN Zone, great for games and watching sports, and the Cheesecake Factory, a very well known restaurant worldwide. Niketown, Virgin Records, a fantastic bowling alley, United Artists Movie Theaters and much more. The 16th St. Mall offers a free shuttle that goes up and down the 1-mile long strip of stores and attractions.

Denver is also known for its Auraria Campus, which is The Metropolitan State College of Denver, and University of Colorado at Denver. This is located right next to the Pepsi Center, home of the Colorado Avalanche of the NHL (National Hockey League), Denver Nuggets of the NBA (National Basketball Association), Colorado Crush of the AFL (Arena Football League), and the Colorado Mammoth of the NLL (National Lacrosse League). The Pepsi Center also plays host to plenty of concerts as does the City Lights Pavilion which is right next door. Denver´s biggest amusement park is right next door to this. Six Flags Elitch Gardens offers a variety of roller coasters, water rides and rides that are fun for the entire family.
Another up and coming area in Denver is the Highlands, right across I-25 from downtown and next to INVESCO Field at Mile High, the home of the Denver Broncos from the NFL (National Football League). Denver is also the location of the famous Cherry Creek area, a higher class area and a very nice place to live. The Cherry Creek Mall is a fantastic upper class mall and is the most well known mall in Colorado. Denver also has an incredible zoo and museum of natural history.
It has some other colleges such as Johnson and Wales, Denver University, Regis University, as well as many community colleges, tech schools, and other specialty schools. Denver´s public schooling is fantastic as well. Denver public schools have 73 elementary schools, 15 k-8 schools, 17 middle schools, 14 high schools, and 19 charter schools.
